Guaranteed 3 games minimum. Winner based on record, point differential will be used for a tie breaker.
Coaches are optional.
Referees will record score after each game on the tournament schedule.
Players can only play on one team.
If a team does not have enough players at game start time, they can forfeit or play short-handed. If a forfeit a +15/-15 points score will be applied.
Each team must bring their own home/away shirts or uniforms. Teams just need a light and dark t-shirt at a minimum. Home is light color, Away is dark color shirts.
The 3x3 basketball game is played on half-court.
The basketball is 29.5 for all games.
A shot clock will not be used.
Home team gets possession of ball at the start of each game.
Each game will be 10 minutes long. A team must win by only one point, or the team ahead after the 10-minute time limit wins. The clock will run continuously.
Scoring: 2-point per basket.
Possession alternates after each made basket. After a basket has been scored or a foul called, a player must put the ball in play from half court.
All held balls will be put into play behind the half court line with possession given alternately to each team.
On defensive rebounds or steals, players must return the ball by dribble or pass across the half court line before a basket may be attempted. Once across the line, they do not have to pass the ball before shooting.
Fouls will be called by the referee. A foul called in the act of shooting will result in two points being awarded to the team which was fouled, depending on where the player was fouled and a change of possession to fouling team. A non-shooting foul will result in the award of the ball back to team that was fouled.
Substitutions may be made after a basket or an out of bounds play.
The substitution can occur only in a dead ball situation. In 3x3, a substitute can only enter from the baseline, and the substitution becomes official once the player leaving the game has made physical contact with the substitute. Unlike the full-court game, no action from referees or table officials is required except it must be during a dead ball situation.
Each team is only allowed one 30-second timeout per game/overtime combined.
If the game ends in a tie after regulation time there will be a two-minute overtime period. Possession goes to the home team to start. Ties at the end of any overtime period will result in successive alternating free throws by each team with each team getting a shot until a team leads by 1 to end the game. Each Team picks their free throw shooter themselves.
No roster changes may be made after a team starts its first scheduled game.
Individual personal foul counts are not kept. In other words, players cannot be disqualified on the basis of personal fouls; however, a player who commits two unsportsmanlike technical fouls is disqualified. If this puts a team in a two-player remaining situation, they can play 2x3 or forfeit the game.
Technical fouls (including unsportsmanlike fouls) result in two points being awarded plus possession of the ball.
We will remove any teams from the tournament that are being unsportsmanlike, fighting, using derogatory language unfit for this tournament. Refunds will not be issued.
We reserve the right to verify any player's age. Inaccurate information is grounds for immediate disqualification of the entire team. EACH PLAYER MUST CARRY GOVERNMENT ISSUED ID. EX. DRIVERS LICENSE/PASSPORT.
